We Are Family Fitness

Fitness Never Quits

And Neither Do You

Family Fitness is a dream come true for the Brazosport community and for its team of fitness providers. Built to fill the need for a first-class health and wellness club, Family Fitness has become a landmark on the North side of Lake Jackson since 1998.

The 26,000 square foot facility has to grown to home thousands of members across the area due to our belief in a family-friendly environment that is gracious and non-intimidating.

Family Fitness is prepared to host family, individual, and corporate sponsored members. Our health club is a major player in the windfall of corporations looking for a healthier employee and a benefit package that includes wellness and a proactive lifestyle.

The ambiance of Family Fitness sets the club far head of multi-location operations that are unable to offer a comparable level of member service with a large dose of Southern hospitality. We also provide the latest in group classes and upgraded equipment to exceed member expectations.

Passion & Purpose

meet our founder, Kay Aplin

Kay Aplin is the founder and owner of Family Fitness based in Lake Jackson, TX. In her 30's, Kay exited the ballet and classical dancing industry to enter the world of entrepreneurship as a health club owner/operator. In 1994, this Mother of three children, bought a 12,500 square-foot health club out of near bankruptcy. The club served 867 members with 9 employees at the time.

Fast forward to today, we're now based in a 26,00 square-foot facility on 3.3 acres which features a special club within our own—a women's only facility called Female and Fit, along with a 2,000 square foot Kids' Club. Family Fitness now serves over 5,000 members in the Lake Jackson community and employs 60 people.

Kay regularly attends the national IHRSA Conventions and Trade Shows, as well as the Club Industry Shows, in order to stay on top of the ever-evolving fitness industry. Kay says this about her first IHRSA experience: "I went to my very first convention in 1994 and I didn't know anyone. I was just a ballet dancer from Texas who had bought a bankrupt club." She adds, "To me, the fitness industry is exciting and rewarding on many different levels. These meetings of great minds at the shows were energizing and productive and helped me get through the coming year long after I've left the events. Now whenever my staff and I return to Family Fitness from the national conventions, we come back to the community energized and motivated. I love to surprise our members with new concepts and challenges."
